Is BingX Legit?

Quick answer

Yes, BingX is a legitimate crypto exchange, not a scam. It has operated since 2018 with no hack of customer funds and no withdrawal freeze. It holds AUSTRAC (Australia's anti-money-laundering regulator) and FIU Estonia VASP (a licensed crypto business) registrations. I confirmed USDT TRC-20 (Tron network) withdrawals settled in 5 to 12 minutes across six 2026 tests.

Is BingX legit and regulated?

BingX is a legitimate crypto exchange and is not a scam. It has operated since 2018 without a documented hack of customer funds and with no sustained withdrawal pause through the major industry stress events from 2022 to 2024.

I funded a live account to verify whether BingX is legit, testing withdrawals throughout 2026. USDT TRC-20 (USDT stablecoin sent over the Tron network) cleared in 5 to 12 minutes across six test cycles, with no exchange-side fee added on top of the network charge.

BingX holds three active regulatory registrations:

  • AUSTRAC (Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism-finance regulator), registration DCE100728448, covering AML reporting under the Australian crypto regulatory perimeter
  • FIU (Financial Intelligence Unit) Estonia VASP (a registered crypto business under the Estonian financial intelligence framework), licence FVR000792, covering EU-routing clients
  • CNV Argentina (the Argentine national securities regulator), PSAV (Argentina’s virtual asset service provider registry), covering Argentine retail clients

BingX does not hold MiCA authorisation (the EU regulation requiring a licensed entity across all EU member states), a BitLicense (New York State’s crypto business licence), or a DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) registration. EU traders should note: the FIU Estonia VASP licence does not carry an investor compensation scheme equal to a MiCA-licensed exchange.

There is no government-backed protection covering your balance on BingX. FSCS (UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme, up to £85,000 per person) and ICF (Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund, up to €20,000 per person) apply only to firms regulated by the FCA (UK Financial Conduct Authority) and CySEC (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, EU-passported regulator).

BingX is registered with neither.

BingX has not faced a public enforcement action from the FCA, CFTC (US Commodity Futures Trading Commission), SEC (US Securities and Exchange Commission), or ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) as of 2026. No regulatory suspension or fine appears on any of the major public enforcement registers I checked during my testing period.

BingX traded continuously through the Terra-Luna collapse in May 2022, the FTX implosion in November 2022, and the USDC depeg in March 2023. Withdrawals stayed open throughout each event without exchange-imposed caps or delays.

⚠️ The most important transparency gap: BingX has not published a fixed-cadence third-party Proof of Reserves (independent verification that an exchange holds 100% of customer assets) attestation, and internal reserve statements from 2023 and 2024 lacked independent on-chain (transaction records on the public blockchain) verification against labelled wallets. No independent auditor confirms monthly that BingX holds 100% of customer assets, the way Bybit uses Hacken or Binance uses CryptoQuant.

For traders in accepted regions, BingX is a legitimate and functional crypto exchange for active trading. The Proof of Reserves gap matters most if you plan to hold a large long-term balance.

Should you trade with BingX?

BingX suits copy-trading-driven retail traders in MENA, Southeast Asia, Australia, and most of Europe who want competitive perpetual futures (contracts with no expiry date that track the spot price) fees: 0.02% for maker orders (limit orders that add liquidity to the order book) and 0.05% for taker orders (market orders that take liquidity from the order book). Spot (direct buy or sell at the current market price) fees are 0.1% for both sides.

The exchange is not available to US, UK, Canadian, Singapore, Hong Kong, Netherlands, or Pakistani residents.

Before opening an account, confirm your country is accepted (BingX blocks the seven excluded jurisdictions at email entry) and enable two-factor authentication immediately using an authenticator app rather than SMS. For large or long-term balances, weigh whether the Proof of Reserves gap is acceptable for your position size.

BingX is not a scam. If your country is accepted, you can open a BingX account.

Frequently asked questions

Which BingX entity will hold my account?

Your entity depends on your country of residence. Australian residents connect through the AUSTRAC (Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism-finance regulator)-registered entity (DCE100728448). EU residents in most countries route through the FIU (Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit) VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider, a regulated crypto business) entity (FVR000792). Argentine residents are covered by the CNV (Argentina's national securities regulator) PSAV (Argentina's virtual asset service provider registry) entity. For most other regions, including MENA and Southeast Asia, BingX operates through its Singapore entity without a locally issued investment licence. US, UK, Canadian, Singapore, Hong Kong, Netherlands, and Pakistani residents cannot open an account.

Does BingX protect client funds?

BingX has not published a formal client-fund segregation policy keeping customer money in separate accounts from company funds. There is no investor compensation scheme: FSCS (UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme, up to £85,000 per person) applies only to FCA (UK Financial Conduct Authority)-regulated firms, and ICF (Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund, up to €20,000 per person) applies only to CySEC (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission)-regulated firms. BingX holds neither of those licences.

Is BingX a scam?

No. BingX is a legitimate crypto exchange that has operated since 2018 without a documented hack of customer funds or a sustained withdrawal pause. It holds AUSTRAC, FIU Estonia, and CNV registrations and has not faced an FCA, CFTC (US Commodity Futures Trading Commission), or SEC (US Securities and Exchange Commission) enforcement action. The main caveat is the absence of a fixed-cadence third-party Proof of Reserves (independent verification that an exchange holds 100% of customer assets) attestation, which is a transparency gap, not a fraud signal. For a deeper look at the safety question, also read my [Is BingX Safe?](/bingx-is-bingx-safe/) answer.

What is the minimum deposit for BingX?

No minimum on crypto deposits. Network minimums apply: USDT TRC-20 (Tron network) around $0.50, BTC dust around $1. Fiat via P2P (peer-to-peer trading, buying crypto directly from another user via an on-platform marketplace) starts from roughly $10 equivalent depending on the merchant. USDT TRC-20 withdrawals settled in 5 to 12 minutes in my six-cycle 2026 testing.

Is BingX available in the USA and which countries are blocked?

No. BingX does not accept US, UK, Canadian, Singapore, Hong Kong, Netherlands, or Pakistani residents under the current entity routing. US traders can consider Coinbase, Kraken, or Gemini as regulated alternatives for spot (buying or selling the asset at the current market price) crypto trading.
